Notes:
This weed is prolific and spreads everywhere. It is not buttonweed, because the leaves are more rounded and the tiny flower is purple, not white. What is it and what will control it?

I have the same thing that I’ve been trying to ID. It spreads like wildfire in my flowers/monkey grass. I’d like to know how to kill it without killing my monkey grass, hosta and day lily? I pull it up and the roots are shallow, but they go on forever and I know I’m not getting all the roots because it comes back with a vengeance. What can control it?

I wish I could see a closeup of the flower to be certain. I’m guessing this might be a species in the Lindernia genus (?). Check out these species are found in GA: false Malaysian pimpernel (L. crustacea), Savanah pimpernel/blue moneywort (L. grandiflora) and see if you have a match. the third link is for eradication.
