Notes:

This has been in our yard since we moved into our home 11 years ago. Our yard has gone through many upgrades and this plant continues to grow and thrive. I have had many people ask what it is, especially when it starts to change during the fall. Any thoughts as to what it is?

stone, thank you for the reply! I looked a little closer at the descriptions of various Sumac species and it appears that the Staghorn Sumac, (Rhus typhina), is more of what this is considering it has the “velvet” on the branches and stems. Looking a little closer it seems that the Tigereye Bailtiger is more in line with what I have. The plants I have never get over about 4 or 5 feet tall and are not quite as invasive as it sounds like the tree may be. All I know is it is a beautiful addition to our terraces and makes a nice conversation piece. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I appreciate the help.
