Notes:
I saw this flower in the landscape at a branch bank. I showed this to a Pike Store employee and they identified this as a pincushion but have not been able to find this on the interned that matches a pincushion.

I think the person at Pike’s was confusing it with a Scabiosa columbaria and I can see some similarity bu it’s not that. I’d go with stone’s identification.

I do believe that is a Stokes Aster as mention above. Not sure what variety though.
