Notes:
They are growing on a south facing, red clay hillside that gets roughly 6 hours of sunlight. in Northeast Georgia, near Sautee Nacoochee. Are they edible or poisonous? Can they be handled with or without gloves? Are they pet friendly? Thank you!

Of course, having said that, as with any unidentified mushroom, I’d not be handling them without gloves…remember, all mushrooms are edible but some can only be eaten once as you then die…

Might be an Earthstar fungus or a False Earthstar. I don’t think they are generally considered edible but haven’t seen them listed as particularly toxic either. I wouldn’t worry about them.
