Notes:
Need help trying to figure out whatÕs killing my blue pacific juniper? For the past 3 years the outer portion of our juniper plantings (on a steep hill); have browned & died at this time every year. Can anyone help diagnose whatÕs going on and what to do? (Ive just pruned out and planted shrubs in the past to deal with it). Many thanks!

Walter Reeves The Georgia Gardener says:
Juniper problems are hard to diagnose. Many times it turns out to be a problem with the root system that shows up as dead needles Be sure the soil underneath does not hold a lot of water. Junipers hate that Otherwise the best you can do is priune out the dead stuff.
