Noticed this growing in my pot of basil the other day, and today, I see another has taken root on another end of the pot. The pot stays outdoors on my fire escape. A few months ago, a maple seedling took root in a flower pot that spent time out there, but I was quickly able to identify that. Please help me figure this out so that I can figure out how to care for it. Thank you.

Just stirring the pot here. It looks like a croton variety: color, growth habit, seed pods. But, the leaf shape is throwing me.
