White Grubs In Mondo Grass
Q: I was replacing my dying mondo grass and as I planted the first one I found
a white grub. Could that be the cause of my plants dying?
A: White grubs, which eventually turn into various spring and summer
beetles, are a common find when you dig in your spring landscape. They feed
on plant roots but one grub does not cause much damage and would not be a
problem. Grubs are only problematic when you find 6 – 10 per square foot. In
the unlikely case you do find lots of grubs, there are lots of commonly
available insecticides to control them.
