My friend gave me this plant early this year. It has lots of little bulbs that sit basically on top of the soil. It doesn’t do well indoors but thrives out on my porch where it can get lots of light. Any help would be much appreciated!!

It may be some sort of variant of Sansevieria trifasciata (Mother inlaw tongue or snake plant)That would be my guess.

It kinda looks like a snake plant/mother n laws tongue. Same thing, different names. Looks like it could use a bigger pot but I’m also not sure. Because mother n laws are usually straight up firm stalk. It just looks similar.
