Notes:
Although late August this bush has plenty of unopened buds waiting to bloom. Wondering if this would be a good bush for our yard. Saw it near Cleveland Ohio. We live near Chicago.

It is Rose of Sharon. The dried pods will pop releasing seeds which will germination without any effort on your part. Must constantly pull out the small plants, it will spread profusely.

Looks like Althea, also called “Rose of Sharon”. I believe it is a member of the Hibiscus family.
