Need help identifying! Found this in my Bermuda beside the house. It is growing from what looks to be a large nut or acorn, similar to a red oak. WhatÕs interesting is that I donÕt have trees on that side of the house, but dig up three of these. The leaves are green with a red / orange tone. They are currently 6 inches tall. Two of them are Òdouble trunksÓ.

    Since none of oue experts have weighed in, I’ll offer my agreement wIth you that it appears to be an oak of the red (vs. white) sub-genus. Some squirrel must have carried it around before burying it.
