Notes:
I found this small tree which, someone in our neighborhood had dug up and placed at the curb for garbage pickup, along with 9 Wax-Leaf Ligustrum. All are safely in the ground and doing well, but I have no clue what kind of tree this is. The leaves seem similar to a Magnolia as they are clustered, thick and shiny. Help please!

syeather, if the leaves are large like magnolia then I am guessing that your plant might be the Awabuki Viburnum is also called “Mirror-Leaf” for its supper- glossy leaf.

I want to say Euonymus japonicus but the growing tip gives me pause… You could try using the search term “Crenate leaf margins” and “serrate leaf margins” to see if you might find a better guess…

Can you show the pic of the whole plant? Using your hand or a pen to show the sizes of the leaves would be great.

Just wanted to add that this is a small tree. I have no idea whether or not it will get big. It is not a single trunk tree, but has approx. 6 thick shoots from the root ball.
