Notes:
In our pine island when we bought house 15 years ago. Has a few leaves and a very tall, 8′ flower spike with a very few yellow blooms about 1 1/2″ diameter that resemble a daisy. Have had various acanthus varieties guessed but the flower spike rules those out.

Pretty. I wish that you could’ve gotten a better pic of the bloom. Going by the smooth leaves leaves me guessing possible rudbeckia or Silphium. In searching the Georgia silphiums, I found this one: http://www.namethatplant.net/plantdetail.shtml?plant=1385
