Left in pot by previous (deceased) owner. Has survived six winters with us. We have no idea what it is.

It resembles a daylily that I have in a pot. Not sure but might be.

It’s hard to tell without its flowers. For now, to my eyes maybe a type of Iris or one of its relatives? It looks like it might be blooming soon. Its flowers can help with the ID quickly. When it’s blooms and you still don’t know, please resubmit with photos of flowers.
If this plant ends up not flowering this spring /summer, in the late fall re-pot to a larger size pot. Please take a picture of the rhizomes/corms or bulbs then resubmit. Perhaps with this clue we could narrow down the genus for you. Thank you and best wishes!
