Notes:
Came up by itself. I don’t water it. When first came up is had only ferny type leaves. A couple of weeks ago it put out long blade like leaves.

Thanks for the reply Stone. Yes it is one plant. It is growing straight up, and doesn’t look to be a vine type plant. I thought Mimosa at first too, until the blade leaves showed up. It is growing under a Redwood tree. I’m going to let it grow and see what happens.

Are you sure that’s the same plant? My guess is that you have 2 different trees… A mimosa tree and a date palm.
