Notes:

My centipede lawn is lush, green and appears very healthy. It is cut to 2″. In the past few days, several areas 6-8″ in diameter where the blades of grass have thousands of very tiny pearl-like “things” have appeared. It doesn’t appear to be mold or fungus and I see no signs of insects though I have not “dug around” to the roots. There is no appearance of dying grass anywhere around those affected areas or anywhere else in the lawn.

Slime mold. Check out what Walter says about it here http://www.walterreeves.com/gardening-q-and-a/slime-mold-on-bermudagrass-lawn/ Also google slime mold on grass for some pretty good shots of the culprit.
