Notes:

this vine is taking over our un-used vegetable garden. Has a tiny pink flower just recently bloomed, is it a weed or an old watermelon vine coming back. it just now starting fall Oct. 2021

    This isn’t watermelon. It is something in the bindweed, morning glory family ( Convolvulaceae ). I’m not certain of the genus or species and can only speculating here. To my eyes this perhaps might be a species in the Ipomoea genus? Copy & paste these included link for information for some of the species in the genus. The one below is for the Littebells ( Ipomoea triloba) image. Not having the plant in person, I could be wrong in my speculation. The calyx’s sepals is one of the Ipomoea diagnostic key.
