I sold my home after two years in Arizona and loved this ground cover. I figured that taking pictures would help identify it but so far I haven’t had any help. It’s an evergreen that has purple flowers on stalks which blooms in the spring and fall. I remember it smelling like an evergreen in the forest. Someone did mentioned a Texas Bluebell but it’s not that plant.

The flowers are bit blurry, I think this might be a type of beard tongue/penstemon (?). Possible the evergreen Foothill Penstemon group (Penstemon heterophyllus).
