Notes:
The photo show a green plant with tiny leaves that has spread to a moderate degree across a flat but shady area in my back yard where grass is not possible. If this plant became a grass like ground cover it would actually be appealing. What is it?

The leaves details are a bit blurry to be certain. Maybe something in the Hydrocotyle genus, possible H. sibthorpioides (lawn water-pennwort/laawn marshpennywort) (?). Check out it out and see if you have a match. Click on images to enlarge. Best wishes! http://vaplantatlas.org/index.php?do=plant&plant=1947
