Notes:
These purple ground covers were destroyed mistakenly by a landscaper. I’m devastated, as it was my favorite place to take photos of our baby girls. Please help me identify both plants. The third photo is a different ground cover. These plants flower for two weeks each spring, maybe April. Also, I’m curious. How much will it cost to replace about 7 square feet of this beauty? AND is it possible to salvage any of the plant remnants in the heat of an atlanta summer?

Looks like creeping phlox. (phlox subulata) Stupid landscaper… You should be able to salvage a good bit of your phlox…. Gather all the green stems that you can, and put them in a bed… Partly shady would be helpful… Water frequently… Should grow… Even pieces without roots… The rooting bed should be pulverized soil… Planting stuff in rock-hard soil doesn’t work… If you mulch after planting…. Ups the odds of success….
