Notes:
Left my pot in front of my apartment a while back in 2012, and this plant grew about exactly a year ago, to the present. Any Idea what it is?ÊIt has a bark stem, and it is a small tree, yet I have no idea what it is. It survived two feet of snow, back in winter, and the hot temperatures of Long Island, New York.

Well, the Bradford pear flowers are kinda stinky, but I never would have ascribed that particular odour to it. Try doing a search on pear tree foliage. All my searches have turned up leaves that look very similar. Good luck.

‘@sunnysue2009 No, not that I know of. I could see the similarities in both plants, but the leaves of the plant looks a little more pointed, I may be wrong, but the plant I a have doesn’t appear to be the Bradford Pear. And it doesn’t smell “similar to semen.” That is what, according to Wikipedia, it smells like. (Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrus_calleryana)

Just a wild guess, but are there Bradford pear trees in the area? The leaves look a little like that to me. Here’s a webpage you can look and see what you think. http://www.clemson.edu/extension/hgic/plants/landscape/trees/hgic1006.html
