Maybe a species of aster (Symphyotricum). Sorry I can’t tell which one is yours. Check out some of the similar looking species, the S. pilosum (frost aster), S. ericoides (heath aster), etc… Best wishes! http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/prairie/plantx/hth_asterx.htm
