They could get very big. I just saw a Tulip Tree or Yellow Poplar with a trunk circumference of 12 plus feet and about 30 feet up to the first limb here in North Central Ohio.

I concur. Although the leaves are usually seen with pointy tips, the rounded tipped variety was the most common in East Tennessee when I was little.

Maybe Liriodendron tulipifera, Tulip Tree. They may be a mature tree nearby.
