This plant came up in an area where we have bird feeders let it grow and a few days ago this flower emerged its in a hanging planter that we didn’t have anything in

I grew Dahlias from seed, multicolored, and they looked like this flower, but the plant only grew 2 1/2 feet or so tall. The were unwins dwarf, I think. Dahlias are usually treated as tropical and brought into the garage in this area, but these lasted about 5 years before they froze out.

My guess would be a dahlia of some kind but I’m not 100% sure because the leaves look a little odd and they don’t usually come up as ‘volunteers’. Though a few can be grown from seed, most can only be propated through the rhizomes/bulbs.
