Notes:
I grew up with this plant my whole life. I know it is some form of succulent or cactus. I have never seen it have flower or bloom until I tore a pice off and planted a new one. The flowers are huge compared to the plant and they attract flies. I’m incredibly curious to know what it is.

P.S. You probably already know to bring them inside for the Winter. I’ve lost some to freezing temperatures. (They shouldn’t bloom during the Winter, so it’s safe.)

Common names are “Starfish Plant” or “Starfish Cactus”. Definitely an outdoor succulent, as the blooms smell like carrion (rotting flesh).
