Notes:

I saw this blooming yesterday (Sunday Oct 7, 2012) at Oakland Cemetery. It is about three feet high and wide and has woody stems. It is blooming and also setting seed. I would love to have this in my garden if I can ID it.

I was searching online and came across a picture of a flowering plant that made me think about what I had posted previously. The plant I saw was Sinningia and it may be what this is which I previously thought was a penstemon. So you can do more research to see if the leaf description and other attributes fit.
