I can’t see the stems clearly, and with out flowers to help narrow down its ID. I could only speculate and suggest you check out some of the smartweed species in the Persicaria genus formely these were placed in Polygonum. Again, I’m purely speculating. Link below with some of the Persicaria/Plygonum species grow in IL. When these bloom and you still don’t know. Make new post with flowers photo.
