Notes:
I live in Bulloch County, Georgia, and this unruly but lovely plant is existing landscaping at a home we purchased last year in Statesboro. The leaves are similar to a rose of sharon, but it completely died back with last winter’s freezing temps. Please let me know what it is, how to prune it, and best practices for plant health. Thank you!

I kept searching photos and I found it! It’s Duranta Erecta ‘Sapphire Showers’, a member of the verbena family.
