Notes:
We had this (pre-existing) shrub growing in the backyard since we moved into our house in the fall of 1986. Woody trunk and limbs, thick single node green leaves and blooms small white flowers. It has existed for the most part under the sgade of larger trees along a fence line. Our neighbor had a few large trees cut from his yard at the end of last summer and sunlight has drastically increased. I pruned the shrub back in March. Had 3-5 inches of rainfall until last week. Now looks dried up /Dead

Can you give us a side view the whole plant, closeup of leaves & side view of its branch? Also please tell us about flowers or fruits(if there were any) i.e. size (compare to smaller or bigger than a dime), shape (trumpet, flat, cup etc…) single flower, spike or in cluster. With out its flowers these clue might help us narrowing down the ID for you. On the side note, beside being being exposed to the scotching sun, some tender plants need protection from the frost, winter wind, etc… I have some ideas but unable to go further without more details. Best wishes!
