Notes:

I ordered this from Wayside Gardens 25 years ago, then described as a southeast woodland native that tolerates dry shade. It is a perennial and stands about a foot high. It has reproduced most years since that time. It just has this one branch or bract of flowers. Trying to ID so I can buy more. I selected West Coast as the location but it is a cultivar not a wildflower and I planted it. As I said I believe it is from southeast US.

I can’t say whether it tolerates dry shade, but the only places I can recall seeing it in the wild were close to or on stream banks.
