Notes:
Seedlings popped up in containers in tidy clusters as though planted. I thinned them but left 1-2 in most since I had no idea they were- they’re still coming up. They have soft furry leaves, square stems, very faint woody (?) scent, tolerate high temperatures & intense light. They’re harder to pull when larger- haven’t examined the root structure. None have flowers. I compost but the “planting” pattern is odd & I haven’t seen any in either bin. My region is West- High Arid Zone

Hi Kate, maybe something in the mint family (Lamiaceae) with the square, opposite stems and fuzzy leaves. When these bloom and you still don’t know, make new post with photo of flowers. I’m wondering if they are a species in the Salvia genus (?). Best wishes! Laura
