Notes:
I still don’t know what they are. I have large areas (moist?) of the 1st 2 pics. remind me of cane or bamboo. leaf similar to crabgrass. Seed head open like Johnson grass, but small roundish seeds sparcely placed. The 3ed pic is similar to Dalis grass. The awns look like Dalis grass awns. Larger and not rhizome spredding. If you don’t know them, but can point me in the right direction, please do. I still have a lot of grasses that I don’t know.

Hi whatweed, since you have numerous grass genera. This link below has various of grasses in details i.e. spikelets, culms, blades, etc…Click on each species for its own pages. I can’t tell exactly which genus is 1&2, but to my eyes the leaves look similar to those of the species of Dictanthelium geus(?). Also according to sources, one of the species in the Panicum genus, Panicum clandestinum was moved to the Dichanthelium genus. It is now D. clandestinum (deer-tongue Witchgrass). There are species of Dictanthelium present in TX, perhaps the link’s closeup images of different species will help you further. For the #3 photo, the grass details are not clear enough to tell. Maybe you could give us closeup details using similar methods on the website’s images. Best wishes whatweed! http://www.namethatplant.net/gallery_glossary_1.shtml?term=culm

Thanks, Panic grass sounds right. Not, sure which; but I have something to call it and something to go with.
