It’s hard to see the leaves details with the reflective shine from the clear plastic (?). Also without flowers to help narrow down, I’m guessing this could be a species buttonwood (Diodia) (?). Check out Virginia buttonwood (D. virginiana), and click on the tab for PoorJoe (D. teres) species information from the included link below. The second link with control method.
