Notes:
This plant is growing in a subtropical garden; flowers in summer. Light green leaves tend to hang downwards while flowers are held upwards above the folilage.

Oh thank you – it IS Justicia adhatoda. How silly of me not to recognise it as related to the more familiar J. carnea. It’s a lovely shrub and I’ve been trying to identify it for ages. Thanks again.

This might be Malabar nut (Justicia adhatoda syn. Adhatoda vasica).
