Notes:

I orsered this seed through ebay from the island of Puerto Rico. It was supposed to be cilantro. Cilantro is a spice we use to cook with. When it grew, it didn’t look like cilantro. Its about three feet tall and the fuzzy cone only grew on the top half of the plant. Please help.

    It’s an amaranth… http://www.catnapin.com/WildFlowers/Weed/wzPigAmaranthTall.htm I grow amaranth as a trap crop for the cucumber beetles, and then use it as a nutrient accumulator by tossing them into my compost. There are a number of varieties that are planted as food / ornamentals. I don’t know if this plant is one of them… it looks like Palmer amaranth. You are supposed to be able to eat the leaves, and the seeds… personally… ima let the bugs eat them.
