Notes:

This flower is a real mystery to me. I’ve only seen it growing in one place. I’ve gone through 4 manuals on wild flowers but no identification. Semi-shade, oval, smooth edged leaves.

    Maybe a species in the milkworts genus (Polygala). This could be the fringed milkwort (P. paucifolia). Check it out and see if you have a match. Best wishes! https://gobotany.newenglandwild.org/species/polygala/paucifolia/
