Notes:
I saw this lonely wildflower among the Japanese maples at Gibbs Gardens in October. Sandy couldnÕt identify it and she said send that one to Walter! I have seen this plant in my backyard as well.

This link has more information for Ageratum conyzoides, click on images to enlarge. Although I’m not sure, I’m leaning toward the blue mistflower. http://keys.lucidcentral.org/keys/v3/eafrinet/weeds/key/weeds/Media/Html/Ageratum_conyzoides_(Billygoat_Weed).htm

I can’t see more of the plant’s details clear enough to narrow down. Check out the hardy ageratum/blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinume), and the Billygoat Weed (Ageratum conyzoides)to see if you have a match. The first included link is for blue mistflowers, click on images to enlarge. Best wishes! http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/PlantFinder/PlantFinderDetails.aspx?kempercode=j870
