This is a winter grassy weed called Nut Sedge or nut grass. Prevention takes time some times weeks. Easiest method to pull it as it emerges.

Unfortunately the seeds image is too blurry. Please resubmit with photos of better focus of the seeds, in addition its stems, and the plants roots (from your description, the root seems to fit for a rhizome type). Also flowers if there are any. Thank you and best wishes!
