Notes:

Came up in the corner of our garden several years ago. comes up late summer. forms a clump of green buds then blows from the bottom.. smells wonderful. grows on one stalk about 36 to 48″. Second picture shows chives blooming behind it. This year there seems to be a new stalk next to it and about half the size.

Probably tuberose. The scent is a dead giveaway. They are VERY fragrant. My Aunt had a bed about 4′ x 6′ so when they were in bloom, the whole neighborhood knew. http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/gardens-gardening/your-garden/plant-finder/plant-details/kc/a468/polianthes-tuberosa.aspx
