Notes:
A patch of his lovely fern was found in the woods at the back of my lot in Atlanta, but I can't identify it from the Native Ferns of Georgia book. It grows 3-4' tall & as you can see is lacy & delicate. The patch ended up mostly covered by a neighbor's kudzu last fall but a number survived after the kudzu died back for winter.

Thank you, laura735. Resubmitted with sporangia and fiddlehead photos. Individual sporangia are very small, generally in double straight rows on either side of the centerline of each leaflet. I magnified as best I could, there’s no “macro” setting on phone camera so could not get extreme closeup.

Please resubmit with closeup photos of the underside of the fronds. The sporangia (spores enclosure) can help us narrow down its ID for you. Thank you & best wishes!
