Just moved into new home . Plants are about 20 years old . Buds about 1Ó oblong shape. Plant is covered with buds

Thank you, we have them all around the back of our house and by the pool. They are overgrown, so when is the best time to cut (not trim) back. Need to cut about 4′ off the tops (8-10 tall now) and about 2-3 feet from the side that has overgrown the side walks Thank you and I really enjoy your show and advice Stephen
