Notes:
We just bought a new house and this is one of the nice surprises- any ideas? It was not showing at all above ground in March when we bought the house but now its growing in a grouping of single stalks. I thought it might be hyacinth bean vine, or a Joe Pye Weed but the flowers and leaves are very similar to a hydrangea as is the overall size and height. Not much color yet though. Thoughts?

2 questions: First, can you prune Hydrangeas’ to get new growth or is it one and done? Secondly, You recommended just cutting one limb back on a butterfly bush in season to get new growth. Can you cut all of them back and get new growth? How long will it take to get new growth if I do that? I have a bush full of dead blooms and theyre ugly..

The name that I know it by is Cashmere Rose, another flower from you know where. It does not like sun, loves shade and will creep under concrete and show up on the other side. I am keeping mine contained in two big pots on the deck, otherwise it is very invasive.
