Notes:
Fuzzy flower stems about 3 inches high. Leaves are flat mat forming. Sandy soil, south sloping heavily wooded building site.

Hi Bobby, I can’t tell which species of this composite flower is. If you could check the phyllaries from its involucres and compare to these included links, and see if you find a match. I’m wondering if yours could be something in the Chrysopsis genus, perhap Maryland golden-aster (Chrysopsis mariana) with very short flowering stalk?
