Notes:

Saw this little tree at the forest's edge and it caught my eye. The leaves almost look Aspen-like and the fall color is a striking red-yellow. I'm at a total loss as to what this could be. Does anyone know?

Hard to say with limited perspective but leaf shape and fall color hint toward Amelanchier/Serviceberry. A native to the area though not common.

The dormant buds are not close enough to tell for certain. I’m wondering if this could be either a type of pear (Pyrus) or Chinese tallow tree (Triadica sebifera)? AlthoughI’m leaning toward pear, this is only a speculating. Copy & paste the included link below for closeup of images dormant pear buds & bark. Perhaps you could compare these clues to the found tree and see if you have a match. If you still uncertain, please resubmit with closeups of dormant buds and tree trunk. Best wishes!
