We just moved into a new home and we are starting to do some gardening and cannot figure out what kind of bush this is? Up until a few days ago we thought the bush may be dead but then it started sprouting some buds today. Can anyone tell me what it is, and also if the second picture is the same kind of bush? Thanks for your help!!

These pictures are difficult to see… but my guess would be crepe myrtle.

On first look I was going to say it looks like a dead bush but I see you have already ruled that out. I think we may have to wait until we get a bit more growth to actually tell though.
