Notes:
Came up in my four o’clock bed, which are very late to emerge this year. Leaf reminds me of sweet potato which I grow. Also grow morning glories of various kinds, but don’t remember one that resembles this. Thank you

Laura, I looked again and think your right about hempvine. There is a huge variety of leaf shapes. If it is as hardy as lit says, I’ll see blooms.

You’re welcome whatweed! Appreciate the feedback. leaves shapes can be some what vary. But you would be the best judge for having the the plant in person. One quick way to rule out the hempvine is the leaves are opposite on the stem, while sweet potato leaves are alternate. I could be wrong thinking the two leaves in the above photo are opposite. Here is another hemp vine leaf’s variation from the included link. Click to enlarge. Best wishes! Laura

Thanx Laura, Leaf looks different to me. Maybe I can get it to bloom. I’m leaning toward a sweet potato seedling. I did notice a lot of blooms on my sweet potato plants last year. I’ll post when I know. I’ve never seen hempvine here before.

Maybe climbing hempvine (Mikania scandens) (?). Check it out and see if you have a match. Click on images to enlarge from the included link below. Flowers are needed to confirm the ID. Best wishes! http://www.namethatplant.net/plantdetail.shtml?plant=2219
